The Jekyll & Hyde is situated in a beautiful rural location in Hampshire, but has a strong roadside presence on a prominent A-road and is also close to the M3 motorway. The surrounding countryside is popular with both walkers and cyclists, making the most of the excellent walking routes and local road network.
The surrounding area is dominated by the Duke of Wellington’s Stratfield Saye estate. Wellington Country Park is a mere 3 miles away just off the A33 and attracts many visitors to their family-orientated events and beautiful grounds. The area also benefits from many affluent large, and ever-growing, villages. Basingstoke and Reading are within easy commute either by road or the railway link between the two.
As a region, Hampshire has it all, with a great combination of city, coast and countryside locations. The county has history and heritage at its heart, and benefits from the natural beauty of two stunning National Parks. With exciting events throughout the year, including arts, culture, festivals, music, and sporting events, Hampshire is an ideal location which caters for all.
At first glance the Jekyll & Hyde looks like a modestly sized roadside establishment but on entering, its true size becomes apparent.
The pub is one of the key dining establishments in this very busy area, with over 120 internal covers. There are a number of characterful dining areas leading off from the bar, which is ideally situated at the front of the pub.
The Jekyll benefits from a large, well-maintained garden with over 130 covers, a generous car park, and is in very good condition throughout.
There is excellent private accommodation at this pub, including space for an additional team member.
The accommodation comprises 3 double bedrooms, a single bedroom, bathroom, small shower room, open plan lounge/diner and a private kitchen.  There is also a separate bedroom and bathroom (accessed through a fire door).
Bedrooms – 5
Lounge / diner – 1
Private kitchen – 1
Bathrooms – 2
Shower room – 1
The pub currently attracts a diverse guest base, including local residents, workers and visitors to the area. Friend and family groups often use the pub as a midway meeting point between Reading and Basingstoke.
Steady lunchtime and early evening dining trade build up to the peak trading days at the weekend.

FMT is the level of turnover and profit that we believe that the business is capable of delivering if being operated competently. The FMT is usually calculated by the Business Development Partner for the pub to rent, who will produce a shadow profit and loss account for the business which supports the rent. A copy of the shadow profit and loss account will be provided during the recruitment process.
Please see our Code of Practice for more information on FMT and rent. The Fair Maintainable Trade is not a guarantee of levels of trade or profit that will be made from the business – we strongly recommend you seek appropriate independent legal and business advice as part of your Business Plan.
The Full Investment Breakdown for each public house is higher than the minimum investment we will accept. This is because potential Business Partners with the minimum investment available can still be accepted as we are able to offer them financial support for the rest of the monies.
The working capital incorporates the purchase of stock, glassware, loose catering effects and valuer fees – please note the number quoted on this website are based on estimates. The exact costs will be determined on the day you take on the public house by independent valuers and stock takers. Please see our Code of Practice for more information about investment.
